How to organize English receipts

Receipt Flow English is a trial for US-style printed receipts. It reads English text and creates a draft you must check. It does not verify expenses, calculate tax liability or replace original evidence.

1. Add photos or enter a receipt

Select the default currency yourself, then choose JPG, PNG or WebP photos. The workspace supports 10 receipts, 15 MB and 25 megapixels per image. Take a clear, straight photo of one receipt. The first scan downloads English OCR resources. Your photos are processed in your browser, not uploaded for recognition. If OCR cannot load, use Add receipt manually and enter the fields or paste text under OCR text.

2. Check the draft

Review merchant, date and final total first. Dates are interpreted as month/day/year, so 03/04/2026 means March 4. Dot-decimal amounts such as 1,234.56 are supported. Decimal commas, handwritten tips, refunds and complex tax formats are outside this first trial. A selected EUR currency does not enable European date or number parsing.

Check subtotal, tax, the tip actually paid and any additional discount. Blank means unknown, not zero. Enter 0 only when you have confirmed there is no amount. A discount already included in the printed subtotal must not be subtracted again. Suggested tip percentages are not payments.

3. Edit items and currency

Item names and line amounts are tentative. Remove non-item lines or add missing items. Quantities and unit prices are not inferred. You can correct OCR text and rebuild the draft, but rebuilding replaces field and item edits. Currency is always a manual selection: USD, CAD, AUD, GBP or EUR. The app never converts currencies or combines different currencies into one grand total.

4. Save the result

After comparing with the original, mark the receipt as reviewed. Excel includes receipts, items, currency totals and notes. Unreviewed rows are labelled. Print / Save PDF opens your browser print dialog; select Save as PDF. The report does not include source photos. Save before closing the tab: there is no cloud history or automatic workspace recovery.

Practical tips

Use the simplest receipt first. Good lighting and sharp text matter more than adding many photos. Check small decimal points and the difference between subtotal and final total. A zero difference in the arithmetic check does not mean the OCR is correct. Keep originals with your downloaded report.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with every country?

No. This first trial focuses on English text with US date order and dot-decimal amounts. Other layouts require manual entry and verification.

Why are fields blank?

Uncertain or conflicting amounts are left blank. Multiple total or tax lines need manual review. This is preferable to silently treating unknown amounts as zero.

Is this free?

Yes, with no account or paid API key. Your device performs the OCR. Internet access is needed to load the site, OCR resources and Excel library. See the privacy policy for provider requests and visit analytics.

Can I use Korean receipts?

Use the separate Korean receipt tool, which retains its existing recognition rules.
